GCE L2 Units 10 & 11 Reflection

 This unit has been the hardest for me to reflect on. I continue to think about how these things are unavailable to me where I currently teach. However, what I did not know was the collaboration of playlists on YouTube. I think that will be very useful in Professional Development for my school or for me to keep track of things that I have learned as reminders. Also, since I have to put all YouTube Videos into Google Slides it will be easier to keep track of things all in one place.

I also learned about Team Drives, which I didn't know about before. I have done shared folders but hadn't known anything about Team Drives.

Currently, my 4th Graders are doing a partner research project and are using Google Docs to collaborate. Some of the information that I learned in Unit 11 has been helpful in advancing my students' self-agency. I am using my own version of a hyperdoc with tables and they have the sources ( a few provided by me and others they find on their own), then on the right side they type out the information that they have found. It is all in one spot and both of the partners are using it

    Amy, great job reflecting. You showed how you are using information to grow yourself professionally, but also provided a great example on how you can use what you learn and apply it to your students/assignment. Great work! I hope that collaborative playlists and Team Drives is something you can dive into further, b/c both can be incredibly useful when it comes to collaboration and working SMARTER not HARDER! :)

 A. I have learned some new ideas for Flipped Learning and Blended Learning. I am excited to do more with a hyperdoc. B. I think that this will be great for my 4th Grade National Park Research. I currently put links in my Google Classroom, however, with a hyperdoc it will all be in one place where the students can write notes directly on the doc. GCE L2 Units 3 & 4 Reflection

 In Units 3 and 4 I learned more about ways that I can utilize Google Calendar to make appointments. I also learned about better ways to connect with guardians (most of which I already use). Finally, I learned more about a few different extensions that I had not used before. One of the biggest takeaways is that this might be a better way to schedule Student-Led Conferences than what we are currently using (Signupgenius). I like that it automatically puts things on the Google Calendar which is what I use for all of my school and personal scheduling.  I also am really enjoying the extension Grammarly, I had heard about it before, but had not tried it. So far in this blog post it has helped me three times. :)

GCE L2 Units 6 & 7 Reflection

 In Units 6 and 7 I learned about some features that I didn't know about that I will need to do more research on. I am not fluent in adding videos and YouTube Creator Studio and it is really neat some of the options that they have. I also learned some great lesson ideas that I will be taking forward with me. I was really excited about the idea of a Choose Your Own Adventure Slide Deck. I have used interactive notebooks with Slides before for research and presenting information but this is another fun way to use it. I think I may use this with my 5th Graders this year. I am going to head to the library to check out some books to give them ideas for it.
